Friends Cut

This feels absolutely horrible. How on earth do you do a friends cut? To me, this feels like saying to someone - 'Sorry, but we're downsizing, and... we're going to have to let you go. Not because you were bad at the job - you're just unnecessary and frankly, you don't contribute anything to this company. Here's your commemorative watch.' So, to completely combat that because it couldn't be further from my mind, let me stress the following:

1) Please don't be offended. My f-list has somehow grown to mammoth proportions. I'm sure this amount of friends is pretty much ordinary by anyone's standards, but the fact is - with this many people, and with how much of a talker I am, in my mind, it's impossible to keep up with. As much as I'd dearly love to have you on my F-list, I would have to be on LiveJournal around the clock. Keeping in touch with other dear LJ friends has suffered a little as a result, and I guess that's something I'd like to change.
2) It may even be simply because your LJ is currently inactive. Maybe you've gotten a new username since then.
3) It's not you, it's me. LOL. World's worst cliche, and it's not like we're deciding who'll get the House DVDs and the cat's toys, but it is. I'm just that busy - I had to look at who I continue to be friends with on a regular basis. I think you'll have gotten the idea anyhow due to the fact that I've been unable to leave you messages. I'm really sorry.
4) I realize that this is one of the most overly thought-out Friend Cuts in history, but I like to put myself in other people's shoes!

Behind the cut is who I've kept. (Glass half full - I don't know, it seems a tad more positive this way.) If you don't see your name below, and you're thinking 'Hey! I'd still like to be here!' please let me know, I'd love to hear from you. This is more a tidy up than anything. If not - I wish you all the very best in the world for future LJing. No matter how little we've kept in touch, everyone I've ever friended has been nothing short of wonderful.

The Insensitive Review
Edit*: Completely forgot to mention. Sorry for this onslaught of posts and comments today, there's just so much to catch up on, it's going to take me a little while to get to everything. I know you'll bear with me!

I wrote half of this review literally five minutes after viewing the episode, and the second half just now. So I go a little crazy! But all that's been mulled a little by sleeping it off last night. I also don't have any caps for this episode (or the actual episode itself!), so this is off the top of my head without the usual pics/quotes. I haven't been able to do one of these for a couple of weeks!
Enjoy, and let me know what you thought of the episode. I'm still unsure what to think of this one...

The Words And Deeds Review
Review for episode 11, Words and Deeds. Spoilers and picture spam behind the cut, long review ahead. Once again, my brain is frazzled, and I don't think this is going to make much sense at all... sorry for a once again very inconsistent review. I just can't make things click at the moment, I think I'm on House overload!

The Finding Judas Review
Phew! Review for episode 3.9, Finding Judas. As always, pic spam and spoilers behind the cut. I have to say, I'm surprised - this episode has been a huge turning point for me. At least, I hope :S. If you're feeling disgruntled with the season so far as I've been, hopefully this also gives you some clarification. I didn't realize it upon first viewing, but this is actually an extremely important episode for all concerned in terms of the rest of the season. A warning that it's once again quite long - enjoy ;).

The Last Goodbye
Help! I'm addicted, and it's destroying my life. Here I am up to my ears in work, and instead, I stay up until three in the morning making up a House/Cameron fanmix of the songs I was listening to while studying. I just had to share because - I don't know, I guess it's one of those things that you start and you can't quit until it's finished. And the work involved in putting one of these together... (facepalm) Great way to waste a few hours of life. So it's going to be an absolute nightmare if no one downloads any of these tracks, or winds up disliking the lot... :S

Even if you're not a fan of the pairing, these are songs I'd recommend to you anyhow, so take a look if you can - special mention to photoshopjunkie, who I was chatting to about two of the songs on this one that have also appeared in posts at my LJ. The links have broken since then, so this is an opportunity to re-download.

The coding's gone crazy, and I'm sure that if I edit it, something's going to go horribly wrong, so I might have to try posting this to the community in the morning. If you're taking any of the tracks, or just find a couple you become interested in, please leave a comment, I'd really love to hear which ones you enjoyed! Onto the fanmix... ;)

The Son of a Coma Guy Review
(waves tiredly) Hi! I've missed everyone so, so much, I hope nothing too crazy has happened over the week. Nothing got sorted out (lol), which is just fantastic, but I can't stay away from this place for more than a few days, wondering how everyone's been. So I hope everyone's been well, happy - safe, loving Hugh ;). (hugs)

As for this week's review. Just a note - I wrote most of this up on Wednesday night, straight after the episode aired, so much of the ranting involved is I guess a result of having it fresh in my mind. Those first impressions. I still don't know what to think about the episode, and I've been House free for at least a couple of days, so it'd be nice to see this one again to gain some clarity. Or at least to hear your opinions on it. like I said, I'm having a huge House backlash at the moment with these S3 episodes, and my Wednesday nights aren't as fantastic as they used to be...

(I'm off to get replying on Que Sera Sera and the rest of my LJ)

And something completely unrelated...

One last thing I should mention quickly to the many people on my Flist who I know love the show and propelled me to give it a go - I saw Doctor Who! And oh wow. Amazing. I've just been completely glued to my screen each night, I really wasn't expecting it to be my thing at all, but my mind's spinning a mile a minute. I have a million and one questions, but I don't want to bombard you with things you've probably discussed to death. I've fallen in love with David Tennant. Really, I'll marry him - he's absolutely gorgeous. (and judging from what I've seen, a few hundred thousand other women think the same...) Whatever you Britons are feeding your doctors... (fans self) I think I've just jumped onto the bandwagon. You got me!

She's A May Tripper

An important announcement

That really didn't take as long as I was expecting... the place is still in disarray, and there's nothing there yet, won't be for some time, but I thought I might welcome you to [info]maytripper!!! I had some left over Love Actually gear from this current layout, so I thought this might be a nice opportunity to put it to use.

Few things you need to know, as the main reason I went ahead and created this community was so I could keep my LJ Friends Only friendly.

*If you've added this LJ as a friend, and I haven't added you back - please don't take it personally! I simply don't know who you are, as you may not have left a comment at my Friends only post. If you've friended me solely for the purposes of graphics, please take me off your friends list and friend the community instead. If not - leave a comment here, and I'll most likely friend you back. I think there's about... fifteen people, who I haven't added? I can't tell you how flattering (or how bizarre) it is to be to be friended by so many people, and I wish I could get to know each and every one of you, but it's just impossible for me to keep up with 82 LJs!

*If you're already on my Flist, not much is going to change at all, other than the fact that I'll be able to keep this place more Friends friendly, and on a much more personal level. You guys are pretty much the driving force behind much of the stuff I do (wouldn't be a community without you), so I guess anything huge that may come my way will be kept here.

*What to expect from this the community? Not much, I'd imagine. It got fast tracked because usernames get snapped up like hotcakes, so you won't see much for a long time. I guess there'll be request posts for members only, plenty of House icons, music icons, bars, wallpapers, the kind of things you'll usually find at a comm. Basically a home for the graphics you find here. The batch I'm working on currently, as I've mentioned, is Hugh centric. Rowl.

*Where did the name come from? Three things. I figured 'ellington' sounds like a name you'd find on a Monopoly board, so I whipped one out (okay - and I adore the graphics on your vintage board games), went through the names and wound up with Mayfair, which sounded nice. Obviously it was taken, so I went through my CD collection and wound up with John Mayer's Continuum in one hand and a Beatles album in the other. Day Tripper, Mayer, Mayfair - here we are.

*Anyone know how to put a link to the community in my header? I have absolutely no idea... actually, there's a few things I'm having trouble with... (thanks [info]sideways!)

That's basically all you need to know. Enjoy the comm, and hope to see you there sometime ;).

The Que Sera Sera Review
(Day off, luckily) Oh my goodness, this is far, far, far longer that I would have ever expected. I'm the biggest geek for this show. I completely went off on a tangent - here I am meaning to get angry about Tritter when all I can focus on are the little things. It's actually made me see the episode in a whole new light. It still feels like filler material, but perhaps it now feels like meaningful filler material. That's a heartening prospect.

And phew, do these reviews take a long, long time to write up. Just to go through the episode manually and find quotes, caps - and put it all together. Next week - I'm going to have to keep things down, as there's no way I could possibly find time to do this again, lol! Enjoy the review, (the longest yet) anyhow. Just getting it all out - I discovered some things I wouldn't have otherwise!

They're Bold As Love
OH WOW. Wow. Just wow. I can't wait to share these with you - it's not the icons, I'm sure! Just the situation. Phenomenal.

(yawns) I did it. It's taken me all night and a Friday out of what could be a social life, but I did it! Please excuse me while I go sleep for a few months! Will post these up at the comm later, I just don't have the energy right now to code any further.... 35 icons, including 10 animated. Enormous spoilers for episode 15 behind the cut - as always, I urge you not to click! Please enjoy - and spontaneously combust ;). Goodnight!

(Btw - It surprisingly took me most of my evening to comment here, lol! - I talk far too much, I'm so sorry - will have to get to comment spamming later on today ;))

I Saw Them Today at the Reception
I know I shouldn't have, and I've just missed a class (oh god, am I going to fall even further behind), but I simply couldn't resist...

And I've got to go. Really, I've got to go. Now. (maybe in five minutes? (slaps wrist)) Honestly, Photoshop's going to ruin my life. (the Hugh batch is still on it's way - think of this as a detour - I'm so sorry!
